As Pope Francis so humbly states:

"To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely. And you are, dear brothers and sisters, the face of Jesus." (5/21/13)

A New Moment for our 2016/17 RCIA Participants

The Scrutinies: Special Prayers For Our Elect and Candidates

The Scrutinies are celebrated on the third, fourth and fifth Sundays of Lent and are rites for self-searching and repentance, which have a spiritual purpose. They focus on our elect, Brian Riordan, in order to uncover and to heal all that is weak or sinful within his heart, and then strengthen all that is strong, upright and good. These prayers deliver the elect from the power of sin and Satan, protect him against temptation, and give him strength in Christ. They help to complete his conversion and deepen his resolve to hold fast to Christ and to carry out his decision to love God above all. Together with Brian and the other candidates, Caty, Christa, Courtney, Darcie, Joseph, Kimberly and Phillip, we open our hearts and minds to receive these special gifts from our Savior.

For more information, please call the rectory at (716) 754-4118 to talk to Msgr. LiPuma ( or Sister Ann (

Children's Liturgy

Children's Liturgy Leaders

We are looking for new members for our Children’s Liturgy team. This ministry is a great opportunity to share God’s Word with the littlest ones of our parish! Each week, one leader takes the group to the Parish Hall during Mass and reads/explains the Gospel to them in a way that they can understand. The Children’s Liturgy runs during 10:30 a.m. Mass at St. Peter’s and we rotate teachers, so we only ask for a once a month commitment and we are all flexible to switch. We can help with preparations for any newcomers. Contact Libby Broderick (545-2143) for more info.

Growing in our Faith

One of the very best ways to grow in your faith and your relationship with Jesus is by the practice of Eucharistic Adoration.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Eucharistic Adoration is when we spend time in prayer with Jesus in the form of the Blessed Sacrament. You can pray in any Catholic Church or Chapel for a short amount of time or a long amount of time. Jesus could be in a Tabernacle or a Monstrance while we are praying.
What is the Blessed Sacrament?
Once a host has been Consecrated at Mass, we call it the Blessed Sacrament, or the Eucharist, or a Sacred Host, because it is no longer bread but is Jesus’ Body.
What is a Monstrance?
A Monstrance is a special stand that looks like a golden sunburst which holds the Eucharist up high so everyone can see it.
What do you do during Adoration?
Talk to Jesus in your heart about how you love Him, what you are sorry for, ways you want to thank Him, and for things you and other people need. Sit quietly and look at Jesus, and listen to Him with your heart. Pray a Rosary or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it, or write in your prayer journal.
On the First Friday of each month, St. Peter Parish has all day Eucharistic Adoration at our St. Peter Worship Site.
