RCIA

RCIA

Sent Forth in the Spirit!

The RCIA groups completed their weekly gatherings this week and are now sent forth to live and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ with all of St. Peter’s faith community. Please continue to pray for them.

Soon we will begin the RCIA process again. If you are aware of anyone interested in the Catholic faith or who has not completed their Sacraments of

Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist), please invite them to contact Sister Ann at the rectory at 754-4118 or pastoralassociate@stpeterlewiston.org. It is never too early to invite someone to explore his/her faith. We are all called to be ambassadors for Christ. There are “no strings attached” and no silly questions.

Find the Good Within

Grateful Hearts, Giving to Others

2016 Appeal

Find Good Within. Open hearts follow Jesus’ lead

Get Real. Give Hope.

At Catholic Charities, we rejoice with you today in the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! We also want to thank you for following the example of Appeal Patron St. Nicholas and “finding good within” to be a beacon of hope for those we serve. By giving generously to the 2016 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities, you demonstrate that you are a part of a generous community that is always there for our neighbors in need, just as St. Nicholas was for the poor and sick. Find Good Within. Open hearts follow Jesus’ lead. Thank you for your continued support of the 2016 Appeal!

Growing in our Faith

https://sites.google.com/a/stpeterlewiston.org/st-peter/home/Eucharistic%20Adoration.jpeg?attredirects=0
GROWING IN OUR FAITH:

One of the very best ways to grow in your faith and your relationship with Jesus is by the practice of Eucharistic Adoration.

What is Eucharistic Adoration?

Eucharistic Adoration is when we spend time in prayer with Jesus in the form of the Blessed Sacrament. You can pray in any Catholic Church or Chapel for a short amount of time or a long amount of time. Jesus could be in a Tabernacle or a Monstrance while we are praying.

What is the Blessed Sacrament?

Once a host has been Consecrated at Mass, we call it the Blessed Sacrament, or the Eucharist, or a Sacred Host, because it is no longer bread but is Jesus’ Body.

What is a Monstrance?

A Monstrance is a special stand that looks like a golden sunburst which holds the Eucharist up high so everyone can see it.

What do you do during Adoration?

Talk to Jesus in your heart about how you love Him, what you are sorry for, ways you want to thank Him, and for things you and other people need. Sit quietly and look at Jesus, and listen to Him with your heart. Pray a Rosary or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it, or write in your prayer journal.

On the First Friday of each month, St. Peter’s has all day Eucharistic Adoration.
