Parish Mass & Picnic

St. Peter & St. Bernard Outdoor Mass & Picnic

Sunday, July 31 – Kiwanis Park

10:30 a.m. Mass & Picnic to follow

Everyone is invited to come to this special Mass of
Thanksgiving at which time we will officially celebrate the merging of St. Peter’s & St. Bernard’s as one parish with two worship sites. Please plan to come and worship together the unity of our faith in Jesus Christ and the oneness that we share in the precious gift of the Eucharist. After Mass, there will time to meet and greet one another, as well as to share plenty of food and beverages and activities for the children. More information to follow.

We are looking for volunteers to help from both the communities of St. Bernard’s and St. Peter’s. If you are interested in volunteering to help us with this wonderful event, please contact either Joe Conti 807-6529 or erikajoe87@gmail.com, Rich Helfrich 857-0214 or helfrichjr@verizon.net, or Fr.  cash of any amount

 gift baskets, or random items that you would like to donate and we will put them in baskets

Please let us know! We hope to have all items by July 7th.

This event is more of a “fun” raiser than a “fund”raiser. Join in the fun! If you are not a golfer, just come for dinner ($60 per person). Checks can be sent through the collection or to the rectory with a note that it is for the golf outing. Checks are payable to St. Peter’s Golf. Heart & Soul

As Pope Francis so humbly states:

"To love God and neighbor is not something abstract, but profoundly concrete: it means seeing in every person the face of the Lord to be served, to serve him concretely. And you are, dear brothers and sisters, the face of Jesus." (5/21/13)

Growing in our Faith

https://sites.google.com/a/stpeterlewiston.org/st-peter/home/Eucharistic%20Adoration.jpeg?attredirects=0
GROWING IN OUR FAITH:

One of the very best ways to grow in your faith and your relationship with Jesus is by the practice of Eucharistic Adoration.

What is Eucharistic Adoration?

Eucharistic Adoration is when we spend time in prayer with Jesus in the form of the Blessed Sacrament. You can pray in any Catholic Church or Chapel for a short amount of time or a long amount of time. Jesus could be in a Tabernacle or a Monstrance while we are praying.

What is the Blessed Sacrament?

Once a host has been Consecrated at Mass, we call it the Blessed Sacrament, or the Eucharist, or a Sacred Host, because it is no longer bread but is Jesus’ Body.

What is a Monstrance?

A Monstrance is a special stand that looks like a golden sunburst which holds the Eucharist up high so everyone can see it.

What do you do during Adoration?

Talk to Jesus in your heart about how you love Him, what you are sorry for, ways you want to thank Him, and for things you and other people need. Sit quietly and look at Jesus, and listen to Him with your heart. Pray a Rosary or the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, read a passage from the Bible and reflect on it, or write in your prayer journal.

On the First Friday of each month, St. Peter’s has all day Eucharistic Adoration.
