Academics

Saint Peter RC School is proud of the challenging and varied curriculum that it
offers its’ students at every level. While our Pre-Kindergarten Program is
academically based, it is most importantly “developmentally appropriate,” as we
strive to meet each child at their level and take them as far as they are ready to
go.

As the students move through the grades they are met with the rigor of the NYS
Core Curriculum and Standards, as well as the Diocese of Buffalo Curriculum,
which directly aligns to all in NYS and includes the teaching of Religion.

Support is provided in the form of services by our Reading Intervention Specialist
who meets with students who need additional intervention strategies as well as
those who exceed their grade level standards and are in need of a bit of a
challenge called “enrichment.”

Our Student Support Teacher provides ongoing intervention where needed in the
classroom and in small groups and meets the defined 504 Accommodation Plans
for those identified students. The Student Support Teacher also conducts all literacy and other testing
throughout the school year.
