Advent & Lenten Breakfast
Advent and Lenten Practices During the holy seasons of Lent before Easter, and Advent before Christmas, we offer our students extra opportunities to prepare for the coming of the Lord at His birth, and His merciful death on the cross.
Every Tuesday during these seasons, we invite students and their families to attend the 7:45 am Mass and sit together as we pray the Mass as family. After Mass, we meet in the cafeteria for breakfast...beginning our day with the Lord. During Lent we host a children’s basket auction and dinner to raise funds for Catholic Charities.
Also during Lent, we attend the Stations of the Cross, and our Grade 8 students present the Shadow Stations for the school during the day, and for the parish family in the evening.
Food, canned goods, and paper supplies are collected for baskets for needy families during the Advent season. Students also sponsor a gift for a child in need by participating in our Angel Tree Project. Each Monday the entire school meets around the Advent calendar as we learn the meaning behind the season and the symbols of the candles and the wreath.
Our goal, in a variety of ways, is to share the stories and the foundations of our Catholic faith with your children.
