HSA

August 1, 2019

Dear families of St. Peter R.C. School,

The Home and School Association (HSA) Board would like to welcome you as members of the HSA to the 2019-2020 school year. All families whose children attend the school are automatically enrolled as members of the HSA, so we are a member-led, member-run organization. We hope that you will be an active member not only because we rely on you to help, but because you want to become involved. Being active is the best way to get to know the staff and other parents while sharing in your child’s educational experience at SPS.

The HSA’s primary mission is to facilitate opportunities for families to raise funds towards the cost of tuition and to support the school’s activities by providing volunteers. Each year, an amount is charged to each family to raise via fundraising. That amount is referred to as the “mandate” for the school. Please refer to the school handbook and the Mandate Guidelines for more information about the mandate policy and the HSA's activities.

The middle school students (6th through 8th grades) will also be doing a few fundraisers—water sales at festivals and poinsettias at Christmas—to cover the cost of their special activities. Middle School activities include a biennial trip, seasonal dances, 8th grade retreat, Hope Day (pre-graduation ceremony and luncheon), and other special activities that are unique to the 6th through 8th grades. Please support our middle school students as they work to earn their rewards.

As a volunteer-based organization, we are counting on you to make this a great year for SPS. Fundraisers do more than raise money; they also provide opportunities to meet new people and contribute to a worthy cause—your child.

Yours truly,

HSA Board 2019-2020
